Lumpia

Here is a photo of the lumpia!

Delicious Thai food

I decided to have a small Thai themed dinner party at my house on Sunday night. I made tasty grilled Salmon steaks and Ahi Tuna steaks in Thai Garlic Sauce. It was so good. I wanted to also prepare spring rolls, but rice paper is very difficult to find, even in Asia. So, instead I found lumpia paper. I made Filipino lumpia and I filled the lumpia with garlic, onions, carrots, mushroom, cucumber, and tofu. They were also delicious. However, I fried them in oil and used a little to much and burned myself. I think next time I will try less oil or cook them in the stove. I had a great time and enjoyed the food. I felt like two countries worth of food was not enough. So, I threw some kimchi mandu in the steamer. That way I had Korean food as well for good measure. http://thaifood.about.com/od/thaiseafoodrecipes/r/grilledbbqfish.htm?r=facebook

Hanbok

What do you think? Should I wear a hanbok (Traditional Korean wedding dress) to my wedding rehearsal in the US? I think it would be nice to bring a piece of Korea with me back home. Read what the paper says about hanboks.

Books

If you like to read you should check out Shelfari. It is great. Here is my book shelf on Shelfari: http://www.shelfari.com/o1514409219

Right now I am reading Lovely Bones by Alice Seebold. It is interesting. I can't decide if I like it or not. I just finished 1,000 Splendid Suns yesterday. It was not nearly as good as Kite Runner. But, it was still a good book.

You can get any of these books on Amazon for decent prices or if you are in Korea and want them in English you can get them at Kyobo Bookstore (near the embassy) or What the Book (Itaewon).

RIGBY!

So, I wanted to share my shih-tzu puppy, Eleanor Rigby, with the world. She was born in January. I have only had her a week. She is great and is a perfect playmate for our other dog Charlie. She also leaves us "presents" all over the house.
